Interviewed in the Press

Nabil Adam, a Nawawi Center Team Member, was interviewed in the press with regards to Ramadan and being a Kiwi Muslim in general.

When not studying, Adam puts hours of volunteer time into the Christchurch Nawawi Centre. Its goals are to gain Islamic knowledge, provide services for the community and bridge gaps within Muslim communities and between Muslims and other communities.

“Christian foundations are very good at charity work. It’s something Muslim groups are lacking and we want to get up to speed with interactions with the wider community,” Adam says.

The centre runs retreats for young Muslims from around New Zealand, does mosque cleaning and is working on a programme for visiting the sick.
